SHIMONETA: A Boring World Where the Concept of Dirty Jokes Doesn’t Exist

In this satirical comedy, set in an alternate reality where obscenity laws have drastically impacted societal norms and education systems, sixteen-year-old Tanukichi Okuma finds himself entangled in a web of censorship, rebellion, and forbidden attraction. After the strict "Law for Public Order and Morals in Healthy Child-Raising" suppresses any semblance of vulgarity in the country, Tanukichi enrolls in the nation's premier elite public morals school. Little does he know that his life is about to take an unexpected turn when Ayame Kajou, the founder of the Anti-Societal Organization (SOX), recruits him into their ranks through blackmail. As Tanukichi becomes embroiled in SOX's illicit and perverse acts of rebellion against the seemingly flawless student council president, Anna – a girl he secretly adores – this dark comedy explores themes of censorship, morality, and the human need for freedom of expression.
