Max Headroom

Max Headroom is a satirical sci-fi TV series from the late '80s, initially created as a British pilot before its American adaptation by Chrysalis Visual Programming and Lakeside Productions for Lorimar-Telepictures. Despite the British origins and production, it was aired in the United States on ABC, giving it an appearance of being an American production due to its US setting and predominantly American cast. Cinemax introduced this series by first airing the UK pilot followed by episodes from The Max Headroom Show, which combined music videos with appearances by Headroom himself.Despite initially airing in 1987 on ABC, the show had a brief run of only six episodes in its first season, followed by eight more in its second season. This unique blend of science fiction and satire provided a distinctive perspective on the society and culture of that era, engaging viewers with a fresh look at the future while using a predominantly American cast to make it feel both familiar and innovative at the same time.
