Description:

In the summer of 1945, eight liberated children from the Gross-Rosen concentration camp find temporary shelter in an abandoned palace nestled within dense forests. Overseeing their recovery and growth is Hanka, a fellow former inmate who has taken it upon herself to guide these children through the process of rediscovering the innocence and simplicity of childhood that was so cruelly stolen from them. However, the serene environment proves short-lived as the horrors they fled are not easily left behind. The once tamed camp Alsatians, now released by the SS and roaming feral in the forests surrounding the palace, are a constant reminder of their past trauma. Hungry and desperate, these animals pose an imminent threat to the children's safety. As the fearful youngsters revert to their survival instincts developed within the camp, they face new challenges that test their resilience and ability to adapt in this unfamiliar setting. Amidst the tranquility of the palace grounds and the lush forests, an unnerving tension looms as the children navigate between their longings for a carefree childhood and the ever-present danger lurking just beyond the palace walls.
