In a peaceful London suburb, Mahmud Nasir, a man not strictly observant of Islamic customs, shares a life with his wife Saamiya and their two children, Rashid and Nabi. The family dynamic is further intertwined when Rashid falls in love with Uzma, the step-daughter of Arshad Al-Masri, an infamous 'Hate Cleric' hailing from Waziristan, Pakistan. Eager to make peace for his son's impending nuptials, Mahmud embarks on a journey to gain Arshad's approval despite their contrasting beliefs. However, upon exploring his late mother's papers, Mahmud discovers an unexpected truth about his origins; he was adopted and born into a Jewish family under the name Solly Shimshillewitz. This revelation forces Mahmud to confront complex questions of identity, loyalty, and the fragile boundaries that separate diverse communities in an increasingly polarized world.
