The Horse

Auguste Maroilleur, an elderly and unyielding farmer, diligently manages his expansive 400-hectare farmlands alongside his loyal family. As the patriarch, Auguste's ironclad rule maintains order on the land. However, a disturbance arises when he discovers one of his grandsons is entangled in drug trafficking. The situation becomes dire as the reckless young man secretly stashes the illicit substance within the Maroilleur estate. In an attempt to protect his family and farm from the dark forces surrounding them, Auguste disposes of the toxic contraband. Unfortunately, the ruthless mob sees things differently, and they're not likely to accept Auguste's actions without serious consequences. The film explores the tension between loyalty to family and the brutal world of organized crime, all unfolding within the seemingly tranquil setting of a sprawling rural farm.
