In the quiet urban setting of downtown Toronto, Laura and Carmilla have built a life together after defeating an apocalyptic force five years prior. As a human now, Carmilla is adapting to the mundane aspects of life while Laura focuses on her journalism career. Their tranquil routine is shattered when Carmilla begins exhibiting symptoms of reverting back to a vampire, and Laura starts experiencing eerie dreams involving ghosts. To confront this new supernatural adversary, the couple reassembles their old team from Silas University in an effort to preserve not only humanity's future but also Carmilla's newfound mortal status.
