The Browning Version

The film chronicles the challenging journey of Andrew Crocker-Harris, a middle-aged Greek and Latin teacher at an exclusive British prep school, as he grapples with impending retirement and a turbulent personal life. With nearly two decades spent in service, Andrew is dismissed under the guise of 'health reasons,' potentially jeopardizing his pension, and leaving him unliked amongst students who see him as a tyrant akin to Hitler. His unfaithful wife, Laura, only adds salt to his wounds, seeking opportunities to inflict emotional pain. As he confronts the reality of a failed career and strained relationships, Andrew must find within himself the resilience to reclaim his self-esteem amidst the wreckage of his life.
