In this ensemble comedy, set in the vibrant 1960s, love and music intertwine as a group of dedicated DJs take on the challenge of defying authority to bring the sounds that define their generation to the people. Amidst the backdrop of Britain, these radio personalities captivate the nation with their eclectic mix of pop hits while battling against the British Broadcasting Corporation's efforts to control popular culture. Inspired by real events during Harold Wilson's Labour government, when authorities sought to regulate pirate radio stations through the Marine Broadcasting Offences Act in 1967, this film pays homage to a pivotal era in broadcast history known as "Pirate Radio".
