The Asembly Line

Set amidst the turbulent aftermath of May '68, a story unfolds where Robert, a recent graduate from Ecole Normale Supérieure and an ardent far-left activist, seeks to reignite the revolutionary spirit by taking up a position as a factory worker at Citroën. His comrades join him in this quest to infiltrate the industrial landscape; however, their efforts are met with resistance from the workforce who have grown weary of political discussions. When Citroën implements new overtime policies as part of the Grenelle Agreements, Robert and a few like-minded individuals recognize an opportunity to galvanize the workers into collective action once more. The film explores themes of disillusionment, resilience, and the persistence of revolutionary ideals in the face of disenchantment amidst the backdrop of industrial France.
