The Alcove

In the backdrop of 1930s Italy, the story unfolds as Elio, a man of privilege who has just returned from Africa, presents his wife Alessandra with an unexpected gift: Zerbal, the daughter of a tribal king. Unaware of the complex dynamics within their marriage, Elio's decision unintentionally sets off a chain reaction that exposes underlying tensions between Alessandra and her seemingly aloof secretary Velma.
