In the sultry summer of 1942, Nantucket Island serves as the backdrop for the uncomplicated lives of three teenage friends: Hermie, Oscy, and Benjie. Their main preoccupation is not history or politics but rather the pursuit of romantic conquest. Among them, Hermie's journey takes a unique turn when he finds himself captivated by the alluring yet married Dorothy, whose husband has been shipped off to the brutal frontlines of World War II.
