Silmido

In 1968, a botched assassination attempt by North Korean commandos against South Korea's President Park Chung-hee sparks a retaliatory plan: assemble a team of 31 convicted criminals and train them for an unprecedented suicide mission. This unlikely band of soldiers is sent to the isolated island of Silmido, where they undergo rigorous mental and physical preparation in a bid to redeem their honor by assassinating North Korea's Kim Il-sung. However, as tensions rise and expectations grow unrealistically high, the mission is suddenly cancelled - leaving these men frustrated and desperate for an opportunity to prove their worth.
