Lena, a young girl living in a small Russian town, finds herself the subject of her classmates' cruel taunts and bullying after taking responsibility for a fellow student's betrayal. In an effort to protect her secret love interest, Lena willingly accepts the title of 'class traitor' when the group skips school to watch a movie instead of attending a literature lesson. As a consequence, her classmates are punished and denied a trip to Moscow during their fall holiday.Feeling isolated in the community she now calls home, Lena decides to wait silently for the boy who unwittingly caused her pain to confess his guilt.
