Makoto Yuki, a young student transferring to Gekkoukan High School in spring, finds himself caught up in a surreal situation. As he walks to his dormitory, listening to his headphones and oblivious to the world around him, everything and everyone suddenly stops - except for Makoto. The people have transformed into lifeless coffins, their bodies frozen in time. He learns of an eerie period known as the Dark Hour, a brief yet critical moment between midnight when monstrous creatures called Shadows emerge and threaten humanity.As fate would have it, Makoto becomes the leader of his classmates Yukari and Junpei, chosen by their upperclassmen Mitsuru and Akihiko to guide them in this terrifying new world. Tasked with learning empathy, understanding his connection with his new companions, and confronting the weighty concept of death head-on, Makoto must harness an otherworldly power provided through an Evoker device. This tool, planted onto his head, grants him the ability to face off against the Shadows as they emerge from the enigmatic Tartarus Tower. Together with his team, Makoto embarks on an unimaginable journey of self-discovery and heroism, battling both external threats and their own inner demons in a race against time.
