Macario

In the impoverished landscape of early 17th-century Mexico, Macario, an emaciated and famished peasant, yearns for nourishment, particularly on the solemn occasion of the Day of the Dead. With his wife's hard-earned effort, they manage to prepare a single turkey, which inadvertently sets forth a series of extraordinary events. As Macario enjoys his coveted meal, he encounters three spectral figures - the Devil, God, and Death. Each entity requests a portion of his precious turkey, but Macario's unwavering integrity prompts him to only share it with Death in return for an enchanting gift: a bottle of water that has the power to cure any disease. As miracles start unfolding around him, Macario's newfound prosperity piques suspicion among the villagers and attracts the watchful eyes of the ruthless Inquisition. Amidst this extraordinary turn of events, Macario must navigate through a labyrinth of challenges to preserve his fortunes and maintain his moral compass.
