In a unique tribute to the origins of cinema, 40 renowned directors from around the world were given a challenge: create a short film using the original Cinematographe, an invention by the Lumière Brothers from 1895, under conditions reminiscent of that era. These ambitious filmmakers had to abide by three strict rules - each piece could not exceed 52 seconds, no synchronized sound was allowed, and they were limited to only three takes.
