In this thought-provoking film, the monarch of a Belgian kingdom finds himself in Istanbul amidst a state visit while his country descends into turmoil back home. The unexpected eruption of solar storms complicates matters as air travel and communications are disrupted, rendering traditional modes of escape impossible. Consequently, the King embarks on an unconventional journey through the Balkans, incognito, with the assistance of a British filmmaker and a Bulgarian folk music troupe.
