In the gripping crime drama, Detective Ukyo Sugishita is a determined individual who relies on his convictions to tackle complex criminal cases. Throughout its run, the series has seen various partners join forces with Ukyo in the Special Task Unit. For the first seven seasons, this role was filled by Kaoru Kameyama - a good-natured, hot-headed detective with a penchant for being somewhat scattered. In Season 8, the character of Takeru Kanbe enters the scene, bringing his lanky frame and conceited yet confident demeanor to the partnership. Following this, Toru Kai takes up the mantle as Ukyo's partner from Season 11 until 13; while he comes from a prestigious law enforcement family, his position is earned through his own efforts. As of Season 14, Wataru Kaburagi becomes the first partner without any police background, being an elite bureaucrat temporarily assigned to the Metropolitan Police Department. This unique pairing will undoubtedly face new and challenging cases together.
