Description:
On a secluded islet off the coast of Brittany lies Bannec, home to four intrepid fishermen who've set up camp for three months in pursuit of seaweed harvest. This seemingly humdrum routine hides a lucrative secret: the ash of this underwater vegetation can be sold at premium prices. To cash in on their efforts, the men burn massive piles of seaweed on the island. However, the harsh reality of isolation and arduous work catches up with one of them as he develops a painful infection in his thumb, threatening not only his ability to work but also the group's livelihood. Amidst the rugged beauty of their remote setting and the relentless rhythm of the sea, they must confront this sudden crisis together, grappling with the human condition in an unforgiving yet rewarding environment.
