In a quaint Spanish village known for its wine production, a peculiar problem has arisen. The soil in the vineyards is infested with minuscule grubs, giving the local wine an "earthy" flavor that divides public opinion. Enter Angel, an exterminator who has recently been discharged from a mental institution, tasked with eradicating these pests. As he navigates the small community and tackles the unusual infestation, Angel forms connections with two contrasting women. Their lives become intertwined with his in unexpected ways as they grapple with Angel's unconventional companions—a ghostly presence that follows him everywhere, and his frequent conversations with deceased townspeople.
