In 1966, amidst the tumultuous Vietnam War, Australia and New Zealand joined forces with the United States and South Vietnamese in their battle against the communist North. Filled with young recruits and volunteers, these soldiers were relatively inexperienced when it came to combat situations.On August 18th, members of Delta Company would encounter the raw terror that comes with participating in a brutal skirmish. Their adversary was not just any opponent but an overwhelming human wave intent on obliterating their small force of approximately 100 soldiers.
