In this film, we follow Brian Stimpson, an unyielding headmaster whose life revolves around punctuality, order, and discipline. Despite his meticulous planning, an unexpected train delay forces him to seek assistance from Laura Wisely, a young former student. At first glance, accepting the request seems like an innocent act; however, Laura is still reeling from a recent heartbreak and agrees to help under emotional turmoil. She borrows her parents' car to drive Brian across town to his conference.This seemingly ordinary event triggers a chain reaction that leads to Laura's concerned parents reporting her as missing to the police. They are convinced she has fled with a married man, unaware of her actual reason for disappearing without notice.
