In a quaint restaurant nestled in Kobe, we find a couple originally from Okinawa who have made a life for themselves in their new hometown. Their young daughter, Fuuchan, navigates her way through the world with the support of the adults around her - each carrying their own unique stories and shaped by the tumultuous history of Okinawa and its encounters with mainland Japan's discrimination. This heartwarming film is a cinematic adaptation of Kenjiro Haitani's beloved novel, capturing the essence of human connection and resilience through beautifully shot scenes on the picturesque shores of Itoman, within the serene Yogi Park, and the stunning landscapes of Hateruma Island.
