Akihito, now a high school senior, struggles with his own emotions and decides to distance himself from Mirai in an attempt to protect her from further harm. However, unaware of his inner turmoil, Mirai seeks closer connections with him. When someone from their past unexpectedly re-emerges, they are thrown into another intense battle that forces Mirai to confront her own personal demons.
