Sarafina!

This film powerfully portrays the turbulent events surrounding the Soweto Riots through the experiences of passionate students and their resilient teacher. As they protest against the mandatory implementation of Afrikaans in schools, Sarafina, a young student activist, leads her peers to stand up for their rights. The emotional journey takes an even more personal turn when she realizes her mother is working as a domestic servant in a white household under apartheid laws. Inspired by her teacher's unwavering commitment to education and freedom, Sarafina rallies her friends to carry on the fight even in the face of adversity and sacrifice.
