Description:
In a European country on the verge of war, Ester, an intellectual woman dealing with a debilitating illness, her sister Anna, and Anna's young son Johan find themselves in a nearly deserted hotel. The trio struggles to connect with each other as they navigate through this unsettling atmosphere. As tensions rise, Anna engages in an affair with a local man, further straining the already fragile relationship between her and Ester. Meanwhile, the young boy Johan experiences a series of cryptic encounters that only serve to intensify the palpable sense of isolation enveloping them all. Throughout this haunting journey, the film explores themes of communication breakdowns, familial discord, and the suffocating claustrophobia that arises from being trapped in a precarious situation.
