Yojimbo

In feudal Japan, a nameless samurai without a master wanders into a small village where two businessmen are vying for power over the local gambling trade - silk merchant Tazaemon and sake merchant Tokuemon. Adopting the name Sanjuro Kuwabatake, the ronin strikes a deal with both men to become their personal bodyguard.
