In this biting comedy-drama, we follow the misadventures of two struggling actors, Marwood and Withnail, navigating through unemployment and life in their run-down flat. As they spend their days oscillating between visits to the job center and the local pub, they dream of escaping to the countryside for a much-needed break. Unintentionally booking a holiday at Monty's countryside house – Monty being Withnail's eccentric, flamboyantly gay uncle – they embark on an unexpected journey.Upon arrival, they find themselves confronted with the harsh reality of the English countryside: unrelenting rain, boredom, and a bizarre assortment of locals who seem to be more terrifying than welcoming. Despite their best intentions, the duo's plans for relaxation are quickly thwarted by a series of comical and chaotic mishaps that only serve to amplify their sense of disillusionment with life and career.
