The Pool Hustlers

Francesco, or 'Toscano' as he's affectionately known in the pool halls, has an uncanny talent for the game. Despite his undeniable skill, however, he never seems to come out ahead when it comes to playing for money. One fateful night on a late bus journey, Francesco and Chiara, a talented saxophonist, accidentally swap their respective cases – hers containing her prized instrument, his holding his trusted cue stick. An instant connection blossoms between the two as they navigate the twists and turns of life in Italy's bustling cityscape.Despite the newfound romance, Francesco finds himself in a precarious situation after losing a significant sum to 'Scuro,' the long-standing Italian pool champion. With mounting pressure from those he owes, Toscano is left with little choice but to push his luck and enter the Italian Championships as his last hope of settling scores and proving that he's more than just a lucky loser. The film explores themes of love, ambition, and self-discovery against the backdrop of Italy's vibrant urban landscape and its colorful underworld of pool halls.
