Christie Parson is haunted by disturbing nightmares involving her father's tragic drowning in a swimming pool. Her mother, believing it was merely an accident, dismisses Christie's theories of foul play. However, her boyfriend's startling encounter with a mysterious figure dressed in a cape leads others to question the reality of these sinister events. The elusive character appears to be lurking around their town, eventually seeking refuge at Hank Andrews' mortuary - a place where the unstable son Paul attempts to perform dark rituals to resurrect Christie's deceased father's spirit. As fear and suspicion envelop the small community, Christie is left wondering about the true identity of this tormentor and their intentions towards her.
