Faith Corvatch, a schoolteacher, is convinced that her soulmate is a man named Damon Bradley based on two paranormal encounters from her childhood. With her wedding to podiatrist Dwayne just ten days away, she receives an unexpected phone call from an old classmate of Dwayne's, also named Damon Bradley. This Damon is heading to Venice and Faith impulsively decides to follow him in hopes of finally meeting the man who she believes is her true love.
