In the grey landscape of Bremen's "Neue Vahr" housing project in 1980, 20-year-old Frank Lehmann finds himself caught between two vastly different worlds. When not fulfilling his unexpected military duties, he navigates his unstable living situation at a commune in the city's radical neighborhood, "Viertel." As Frank transitions between the highly regimented army life and the chaotic anarchy of his friends' commune, he struggles to fit in and hide his inherent differences.
