Harry Levine, a weathered and unfulfilled novelist residing in Greenwich Village, finds himself unexpectedly out of work after being let go from his position as a restaurant doorman. With the mounting weight of financial strain, Harry reaches out to his old friend and mentor Jake. Though he initially claims to seek repayment for an outstanding debt, it quickly becomes evident that there's more at stake than just money for the despondent writer.As their friendship is rekindled through a series of candid conversations, Harry begins to unravel a complex web of personal and professional betrayals that have shaped his life.
