The Gilded Age

In 1882, the Gilded Age reigns supreme over New York City's opulent society. When young Marian Brook, an orphan and daughter of a Southern general, moves in with her traditionalist aunts, she quickly finds herself immersed in the glamorous lives of their affluent neighbors. Her world takes an unexpected turn as she forms a strong bond with Peggy Scott, an intelligent African-American woman who poses as her maid. Together, they navigate through the elaborate facades and rigid norms that define high society during this era. As Marian wrestles with whether to adhere to the expected societal rules or forge her own path, she must confront the complexities of love, ambition, and self-discovery in a world full of deception and transformation.
