Kemono Jihen

In a secluded mountain village called Inugami, an alarming mystery unfolds as animal corpses mysteriously rot away within twenty-four hours. Confronted with this bizarre phenomenon, authorities summon Inugami, a Tokyo detective specializing in occult affairs, to decipher the enigma. During his investigation, he befriends Dorotabo, an odd local boy who spends his days laboring in fields instead of attending school. Ostracized by classmates and named after a yokai — Japanese mythical creature that dwells in muddy waters — Dorotabo proves to be a helpful ally in unraveling the dark truth behind the gruesome deaths. However, as the duo delves deeper into the case, they discover that malevolent forces are at play and Dorotabo's peculiarities might extend beyond his nickname, raising questions about whether he truly is human.
