Leaving Afghanistan

In 1988-1989, as the Soviet-Afghan war drew to a close and the USSR prepared for its withdrawal from Afghanistan, an unexpected turn of events occurred that would impact one general's family and his entire regiment. When General Vasiliev's son, Alexander - a pilot in the 108th motorized infantry division - crashes his plane during a routine mission, he is captured by mujahideen forces.
