A group of soldiers from Spokane receive news of their imminent return home after enduring months in Iraq. However, the joy of their upcoming reprieve is swiftly cut short when they find themselves ambushed in an unforgiving Iraqi city. From this traumatic event, we delve into the lives of four individuals: a haunted surgeon grappling with the horrors he's witnessed; a resilient single mother and teacher who must now face life with only one hand after losing it during the ambush; an infantryman still mourning the loss of his best friend; and a soldier consumed by guilt over the unintentional killing of a civilian woman. As they each confront their unique battles, we explore the complexities of human emotion in the wake of war and the struggles that lie ahead for these soldiers as they seek to rebuild their lives back on home soil.
