Koto: The Ancient City

Chieko, the cherished daughter of a small store owner couple in Japan, discovers at a tender age an unexpected family secret: she was not biologically born to her loving parents. Her mother explains that she had been abducted from under a cherry blossom tree in Kyoto as a young child and adopted by her current parents. Despite the shocking revelation, Chieko's bond with her parents remains unshakeable, leading her to keep this secret hidden from everyone except her loyal childhood friend Shinichi. The movie explores themes of family bonds, identity, and secrets set against the picturesque backdrop of Japan's famed cherry blossoms in Gion, Kyoto.
