In this coming-of-age drama set against the backdrop of London's vibrant 1980s music scene, we follow the transformative journey of a young man named George O'Dowd. Aspiring to express himself through fashion and makeup, George seeks solace in the company of Peter, another aspiring artist who embraces his own unique identity as Marilyn Monroe. Their shared passion for self-expression leads them to the famous Blitz Club where they catch the eye of influential club owner Steve Strange.As George works in the cloakroom and navigates a tumultuous romantic life, he encounters various characters that will shape his future. This includes Kirk, a musician who introduces him to drummer Jon Moss, and Malcolm McLaren, the manager of the infamous Sex Pistols. Despite setbacks, such as getting fired from Blitz and being rejected by Kirk, George perseveres, eventually joining McLaren's group Bow Wow Wow and catching the eye of fan Mikey North.North invites George to perform in his new band, reuniting him with Jon Moss, who becomes a love interest. Together, they form Culture Club, which finds immense success.
